KLK is one of the most common Dominican phrases, pronounced:
kay-loh-kay
KLK is literally the abbreviation for "Qué lo qué?" which is how any friendly, young surfer might greet you at one of their local beach breaks.
KLK Surf, based in Tampa Bay, has supported Dominican Republic's youth surf community for years, and our #DoGoodFund(raisers) are how we help deserving athletes reach the world stage.
We believe that through sports any young kid can alter and improve not only the trajectory of their live but those around them and in their community.

We are rallying behind two talented, young athletes working hard to achieve their long time dream... to make waves on surfing's biggest world stage.
These KLK athletes from Las Terrenas have both been selected to compete at the 2026 ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in El Salvador... one of the most competitive events in junior surfing.
Sebastian, 16, earned his spot on team Dominican Republic for the fourth year in a row, competing in the U16 division.
Nina, 16, will represent Team Germany, nominated in both the U18 and U16 divisions.
If you're a Florida surfer who believes in giving back to the sport, this is your chance. Help two hardworking young surfers get to the ISA World Junior Surfing Championships in El Salvador this September.
8/17/26 UPDATE: Sebastian did successfully reach his goal and is on his way to El Salvador. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Nina still needs your help - please check out her campaign here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/ninas-journey-to-the-isa-world-junior-surfing-championship?attribution_id=sl:d544d7f4-389d-4066-93ec-567a6b8dcdf3

Punta Rocas, Peru was a bit chillier than the Dominican Junior team is used to down in the Caribbean!
We had custom KLK hoodies made in the USA - top quality - and flew them all the way down so the team could rep the DR in style between heats.
Thanks to your continued support and contributions, we also sent each athlete their very own spending stipend on behalf of KLK SURF.

These initiatives were born as a spark of genuine desire to help young, talented, local surfers. My father started frequenting Playa Bonita around 2013 where he met many kids both in the water and on the shore that made a lasting impact on him.
Over the years as our family continued to visit he started to always bring back whatever he could from the USA... packing leashes, wax, and board shorts between his suitcases each trip. Then eventually he made room to transport boards for the kids that really showed promise and went to compete and represent the Dominican Republic. And that's where this all started.
Now our focus has expanded to mentoring young athletes and our annual #DOGOODFUND(raisers) are dedicated to equipping local youth surfers with individualized assistance - from custom boards to media training and travel support for competitions. We are heavily involved and dedicated to their success over the years as they represent their families, towns, and country.
